This strap is a longer version of our standard-length leather chin strap, specifically designed to allow the helmet to be pushed off the back of the head and hung from the neck while donning an SCBA mask. Most modern helmets ship from manufacturers with a 26" helmet strap; this strap is 36". A riveted tab on the end of the strap can easily be located and pulled with a gloved hand. A leather tab protects your cheek and mask if the metal size adjusting clip gets hot. The “Chicago Screw” attachment method is compatible with all modern helmet types. You can chose between a solid 1-piece strap or a strap with a quick-release buckle. You can chose between brass, black, or chrome hardware. A single brass rivet secures the pull-tab.
This leather chin strap is compatible with MSA, Cairns, & Phenix leather helmets.
